The exhibition celebrates one of the most incisive perspectives on the birth of the Italian feminist movement, focusing on the Roman context of the 1970s.
Through a selection of eighty vintage black-and-white photographs and archival materials, the exhibition conveys the power of a period that radically transformed Italian society. The images, taken in the midst of demonstrations and assemblies, recount not only the public dimension of the struggle, but also its intimate and relational aspects. The portraits convey gestures, energy, and creativity, giving shape to the demands for fundamental rights: from work to self-determination, from sexual freedom to the right to abortion.
It is a story that continues to question the present, prompting reflection on the achievements made and the battles still to be fought.
