Women in View

CAMERA’s Project Room presents Toni Thorimbert’s exhibition Donne in vista (Women in View), curated by Walter Guadagnini. The project, based on an idea by Luca Beatrice, is a tribute by Thorimbert and Guadagnini to their friend who died prematurely.

A selection of around sixty photographs dedicated to the female figure and taken by the Italian-Swiss photographer over a career spanning more than thirty years, portraying both famous figures and ordinary women, ranging from official portraits to private shots and fashion photographs. As the title suggests, the exhibition focuses on the female face and body, highlighting their presence and identity. Two symbolic images—that of the photographer’s mother and daughter—summarize the meaning of the project: to recount one’s life through the search for beauty.
