Opening Party @Le Roi Music Hall

Saturday’s programme concludes at 10.00 pm with a grand evening event – a proper festival-opening party, open to all holders of the EXPOSED pass – to be held at Le Roi Music Hall, a venue with its own connection to the Festival, having been designed by Carlo Mollino, one of the key figures featured in the current exhibition at the State Archives. It will be the moment when artists, curators, institutions, and all those who have contributed to the Festival come together with the public to dance and enjoy each other’s company.

Taking turns at the decks will be figures such as the legendary DJ Eddie Piller – producer for Jamiroquai, founder of the Acid Jazz label that left its mark on the global music scene in the 1980s and 1990s, and now involved with Modcast, the podcast dedicated to mod culture in all its forms – and Dean Chalkley, the photographer behind the exhibition Back in Ibiza and Other Stories currently on display at Circolo del Design, who is one of the leading figures in the British music photography scene and a DJ by passion. They will be joined by DJ and producer Piero Casanova, fresh from a tour of India with his Soul Therapy ecstatic dance, who writes of his events: “Bring comfortable shoes and a flawless outfit; we’ll take care of the rest”.
